Neuroscience is about the study of the nervous system and the brain; how it works and what happens when it is diseased. Neuroscientists usually specialise in one of a number of areas of the work. These include study of the way the nervous system grows and develops; the way the brain deals with thought, language, memory and its ability to solve problems; molecules that help with the way the nervous systems works. The work carried out depends on where they work; much of it is about research so may involve conducting tests, checking results and making decisions for further study. Neuroscientists work with many new technological techniques and this has helped them to make many advances in the way that various conditions can be treated.
